GTS 2009 winners

Sinaia. January 2009. Green Planet Blues. The first environmental film event in South-Eastern Europe. Top documentaries, high profile debates, photography exhibitions and a film contest for teenagers – GREEN TEEN SPIRIT. Alongside world-renowned experts, who were filled with enthusiasm at the GTS_winners2009thought that such an idea is also possible in Romania, five high-school students proved that they cared just as much. Only one of the students was to be awarded with the great prize – 1000 Euro. Choosing from the cinematic stories brought to life by them – displaying problems and proposing personal solutions, was a difficult task for the jury, a committee of film and environmental national specialists. Just before the screening of the film that marked the closing ceremony, the award winning short films made by the GREEN TEEN SPIRIT finalists were presented and the public greeted the ex-aequo winners of the best short film award: “Water” by Bernadetta Chisarău and “Doza” by Andreea Mironiuc, the HOTNEWS & PHOTON Award winner: “Plastic Kills” by Adrian Ardelean, the Realitatea-Catavencu COD VERDE (GREEN CODE) Award winner: “Think Green” by Diana Ţăţârcă. Andra Purdea, a 13 yeas old student – the youngest GREEN TEEN SPIRIT participant, won the Jury Special Mention.
